President-elect Donald Trump has shared his New Year’s resolution for 2025.
“I just want everybody to be happy, healthy, and well,” he told a Newsmax reporter on New Year’s Eve at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

The world’s richest man, Elon Musk, was also in attendance at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday night.
Musk has been part of Trump’s inner circle since the Republican ran for president a second time. He has been appointed to co-run the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
In a video posted to social media, Musk was seen holding his son on his shoulders while dancing to music at the party.
Trump was also seen in the video standing next to Musk and appeared to be speaking with someone on his phone.
Vice President-elect JD Vance and his wife Usha, as well as longtime Trump confidant Roger Stone and lawyer Alina Habba also attended the festivities at Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday night. Senator Ted Cruz and his wife were also in attendance.
Earlier this week, Trump shared a message on Truth Social directed at Musk, asking, “When are you coming to the center of the universe—Mar-a-Lago—Bill Gates asked to come tonight,” and added, “New Year’s Eve is going to be AMAZING!”

Donald Trump said: “Just a great year, I think we’re gonna do fantastically well as a country. We’re gonna bring it back. It has to be brought back. People are not respecting our country very much and they’re gonna respect us a lot.”
He then reflected on the effort that had gone into the transition process with the inauguration approaching.
“I think a lot of progress has been made over the last five weeks. It’s been pretty amazing when you look at what’s happened,” he said.
“There’s a light over the whole world, not just our country. There’s a lot of very happy people,” Trump added.
When asked what his highlight of 2024 was aside from the election, he responded, “The fact that we’re gonna have a great nation again.”
“We’re gonna bring it back better than it ever was,” he concluded.
What Happens Next
Trump inauguration ceremony will take place on January 20. He will then begin his second term of office, during which he has pledged to hold the largest mass deportation event in history.
