AEW Superstar Officially Removed From Roster, Is WWE Next?
One of the most popular and successful tag teams in All Elite Wrestling is the Lucha Brothers, made up of Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fénix.
These real-life brothers are well-known for their impressive Lucha libre maneuvers and their exciting matches against teams like the Young Bucks and Private Party, among others.
However, it looks like the team’s time with AEW has come to an end.

There have been many rumors and reports regarding the roster status of Penta and Fénix. Now, AEW has seemingly confirmed that Penta is no longer with the promotion.
Per Fightful, Penta is no longer on the AEW roster page.
“Penta El Zero Miedo has been removed from the AEW roster page,” Fightful’s X post read. “The second photo was the roster page on December 2 when he was still listed.”

This reflects a previous report from Fightful Select saying Penta’s contract with AEW is now up.
“Earlier in the week, Fightful Select reported that after months of speculation, Penta’s AEW deal was set to be up soon,” Fightful Select said. “Based on what we’ve heard within the company, Penta’s contract is now up and he’s effectively a free agent.”
However, it still appears that Rey Fénix’s contract is not up yet, allegedly because of time spent injured.

There has been much speculation over what the Lucha Brothers will do once they’re both out of AEW, with most reports suggesting they’ll head to WWE and face off against teams like the New Day, Motor City Machine Guns, and The Street Prophets.
Little is known about the Lucha Brothers before they took on the moniker, but Penta and Fénix both started training on the same day and made their in-ring debut during the 2015 Battle of Los Angeles with Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.
From then until 2019, the Lucha Brothers would participate in multiple promotions, including AAW, Major League Wrestling, and Impact Wrestling.

The Lucha Brothers debuted with All Elite Wrestling on Feb. 7, 2019, by attacking The Young Bucks at the All Elite Wrestling Ticket Announcement at the MGM Grand Pool Splash in Las Vegas.
Arguably, the tag team’s highest moment came when they defeated The Young Bucks at All Out to win the AEW World Tag Team Championship.
Penta and Fénix also formed a trio with Pac known as Death Triangle, eventually winning the AEW World Trios Championship.
Additionally, Rey Fénix saw singles success when he defeated Jon Moxley to win the AEW International Championship.
