Andy Cohen Reacts to Julia Stiles Calling Him Out on DWTS

How Jenna Dewan, Channing Tatum's Daughter Everly Reacted to Her ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Casting

Andy Cohen is walking back a misstep.

During the Dancing With the Stars season 35 two-night premiere Sept. 16, Julia Stiles addressed comments Cohen had made about the dance routine that got her character into Julliard in Save the Last Dance.

“The quote is imprinted in my brain,” Stiles told her duet partner Ezra Sosa, before the show cut to a 2025 clip of Cohen saying, “Can we all just agree that Julia Stiles is not the greatest dancer on the planet?”

But after Stiles and Sosa shut the house down with a quickstep performance to Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5,” even judge Derek Hough declared, “Andy Cohen, you can eat it.”

To Cohen’s credit, he ate his crow with a smile during the subsequent episode of Watch What Happens Live Sept. 16, making himself the show’s “Jackhole of the Day.”

“Julia, I am so sorry,” Cohen said. “I am the last person who should be giving anyone feedback on their dancing.”

Cohen playfully added a video of himself badly dancing at a concert, before emphasizing, “Great job, Julia Stiles.”

“You killed it tonight,” he added. “You did amazing. I know you’re going to have a great run. This diva gives all of you permission to flood my inbox with the ten things you hate about me.”

Meanwhile, Stiles was more focused on how her dancing tied in with another star, as she and Sosa were approved to dance to Parton’s hit song just weeks before her Aug. 25 death.

“It was only a couple weeks before Dolly passed that she approved this song specifically for me,” Stiles explained elsewhere during the DWTS episode. “I’m so honored to be dancing to her music and honoring her legacy, and I want to make her proud.”

And after Stiles and Sosa scored an 18 out of 30 on their routine—earning 6’s across the board from Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli—the 10 Things I Hate About You star called the DWTS experience so far “exhilarating.”

“I am a super fan,” Stiles mused, nodding to Sosa, “and this guy has pulled me out of my shell in, like, the most amazing way.”
