Maneva collection 007 opened with a question: At what point does something that supports and protects us begin to feel restrictive? For her spring 2027 outing, Evangelina Julia presented 31 looks that moved between everyday pieces and sculptural constructions. They were pieces designed to keep moving forward, to work and endure; to protect us, but also to stay (and let go). Their names included an Armor dress, a Surrender corset, and a Bee Keeper jacket.

Julia continued to explore natural materials, which transform over time and react differently depending on the texture they encounter, and what has been placed on them. “We had to experiment with different fabrics to see how the plaster behaved,” she explained. “On a porous fabric like tulle, the cement was easier to work with because it would eventually weave itself in, whereas on cotton, it started to fall away.” These were fragmented pieces, like us.
