Justin Bieber Raps That He Flies ‘High Like a Magpie’ After Rep Slams ‘Salacious’ Rumors About Drug Use

Justin Bieber has posted a video of himself rapping about flying “high” just days after his representative slammed rumors about him using drugs.

On Tuesday, Feb. 25, the “Love Yourself” singer, 30, shared a new Instagram video of himself rapping some lyrics, including the words “fly high,” after his representative denied the musician is using drugs following recent concerns about his behavior.

In the short clip, Bieber could be seen shirtless with a pair of pants on and a bright blue beanie as he held a bag of snacks in his hand. He could be heard rapping the lyrics, “High like a fly guy / I fly high like a magpie / I go high like a bad guy,” as a beat played in the background.

One of Bieber’s friends could be seen bopping his head and dancing along to the beat in the video while putting a cigarette in his mouth. The pal even appeared to suggest some lyrics at the end of the video, adding, “‘Cause I’m that guy.”

In a statement from Feb. 23, which was first reported by TMZ, a member of Justin, 30, and his wife Hailey Baldwin Bieber‘s team denied the rumors that he is using drugs and called the allegations “exhausting.”

In the statement, the rep said that the past year has been “very transformative” for the hitmaker “as he ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him.” Instead, the team member said that he is supporting his wife Hailey, 28, and their son, Jack Blues, 6 months, and is focusing on his health and art.

They continued that the false rumors are “pitiful,” adding that “despite the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive.”

A rep for Justin declined to provide further comment to PEOPLE at the time.

The statement comes after the “Peaches” singer received criticism for looking tired earlier this month with dark circles around his eyes. TMZ reported at the time that he had been up all night for a recording session and caring for his baby son who was struggling to sleep.

Justin previously opened up about his past drug use in an interview with GQ in May 2021. He said he once reached a low point where security guards would sneak into his bedroom in the middle of the night and check his pulse to make sure he was still alive.

“There was a sense of still yearning for more,” he told the outlet. “It was like I had all this success and it was still like, ‘I’m still sad, and I’m still in pain. And I still have these unresolved issues.’ And I thought all the success was going to make everything good.”

“And so for me, the drugs were a numbing agent to just continue to get through,” he added, also noting that he “lost control of my vision for my career” at the time.
