Some people ring in the new year with champagne and resolutions. Others dive into goal-setting. For Kelly Osbourne, it’s been all about battling pneumonia.
On Tuesday, January 7, the 40-year-old former Fashion Police co-host took to her Instagram Story to share her health struggles, revealing a 100-degree fever.

“How is this happening? How [am] I sick again?” she wrote alongside a photo of her thermometer. She later posted a clip of herself in a doctor’s office breathing through a tube, adding, “So I [may] have developed pneumonia.”
Simply put, “Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs,” according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It inflames air sacs in one or both lungs, making it hard to breathe and often causing fever, coughing, and chills.
Osbourne didn’t share much about her treatment, but this update comes on the heels of her recent battle with a high fever over the holidays. “Still going strong,” the TV personality wrote on her Stories last month. “I’ve put ice on my body, taken meds, tried sweating it out in the bath, and nothing works!”
She also revealed that her 2-year-old son, Sidney — whom she shares with boyfriend, Slipknot keyboardist Sid Wilson — had been under the weather too. After a doctor’s visit, Osbourne said they were both diagnosed with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
“Day three with a fever and a little cough,” she said, adding, “Babies bounce back so quickly, but I don’t seem to. I don’t want to be sick anymore.”
The toddler was also dealing with a double ear infection, but the proud mom said he was handling it like a champ. “He’s such a trooper and he’s doing so well,” she shared.
Osbourne and the 47-year-old rocker’s relationship goes way back. The pair first met in 1999 when Slipknot toured with Ozzfest — the heavy metal and rock music festival founded by the “One Word” singer’s parents Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne — and remained close friends for years before things turned romantic. They confirmed their relationship in early 2022, and just months later, announced they were expecting their first child together.
“I’m a mom now, I love it,” the Osbournes alum told E! News in 2023. “It’s the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
