Zoë Kravitz and Zoe Saldaña Make Saint Laurent’s Sultriest Lace a Tale of Two Heels in Paris

Zoë Kravitz and Zoe Saldaña both reached back to Saint Laurent’s fall 2026 lace for the house’s spring 2027 show Tuesday in Paris, but they opted for two very different heels. Kravitz went for glossy black slingbacks with a long, metal-capped point, while Saldaña showed considerably more foot in a pair of thin, crisscrossed mules.

Kravitz, who is a global ambassador to Saint Laurent, wore the French luxury label’s Jeanne slingback pumps in black glazed leather. The design featured a low-cut square vamp and an elongated pointed toe capped in metal, with the Cassandre monogram set into the front. A narrow strap wrapped around the back of the foot, and Kravitz seemed to choose the higher, 90mm version of the stiletto.

She paired them with the black lace cardigan and straight skirt from Saint Laurent’s fall 2026 collection. The cropped top was sheer through its floral pattern, with scalloped edges and a wide black ribbon tied at the chest. Kravitz wore the matching knee-length skirt without an opaque lining.

Anthony Vaccarello spent much of that collection working between tailoring and transparency. In his WWD review, Miles Socha noted that the designer had “hardened” lace with latex before tailoring it into cardigan-like jackets and straight skirts, then took the material in the other direction with barely-there slipdresses. The shoes had an equally recognizable Saint Laurent proportion: Socha called the runway’s “sexy slingbacks with long snouts” “pure Vaccarello.”

Kravitz has made a habit of the slingback shape this year. Before the Met Gala in May, she wore another fall 2026 Saint Laurent pair with a clear PVC upper, faint python print and an exaggerated point. She changed the proportions in June at a Jessica McCormack event in London, choosing pale gray Christian Louboutin slingbacks with a softer toe and satiny finish. Tuesday’s Jeanne returned her to Vaccarello’s sharper version of the idea, this time in opaque black gloss and metal.

Saldaña took the more exposed route. She wore Saint Laurent’s Cleo mules in noir, a slip-on sandal made with thin crisscrossed straps covered in rhinestones. Saint Laurent gives the style an almond-shaped toe and a 90mm stiletto heel, leaving nearly the entire top and sides of the foot uncovered.

She wore the mules with one of Vaccarello’s more risqué fall 2026 lace slip dresses. Saldaña’s black version had spaghetti straps and sheer floral lace through much of the bodice and skirt, with denser horizontal bands breaking up the transparency. She also wore an oversized black jacket slipped down around her arms rather than fully on her shoulders.

The Cleo makes sense, given Saldaña’s penchant for strappy sandals. She wore black patent Givenchy T-strap sandals to the Time100 Gala in April, where thin straps left much of the foot visible despite the shoe’s sharply squared toe.

By July, she was in white Aquazzura So Nude sandals in New York. She has also worn Saint Laurent’s own strappy Chandelle sandals, choosing them for the Los Angeles premiere of “Avatar: Fire and Ash” in December 2025.

The two actresses were at Fontaine du Trocadéro for Saint Laurent’s spring 2027 presentation, six months after Vaccarello showed the lace looks they wore in the front row. For spring, he moved away from the collection’s predominantly black evening mood and into gold, with brocade, shimmering dresses and sharp-shouldered tailoring appearing beneath the Eiffel Tower.

“Here, the trenchcoats, pencil skirts, safari jackets, luncheon suits and cocktail dresses were all gilded in a variety of fabrics, not only lamé, but organza, guipure lace, chiffon, brocade, jacquard, metallic cotton and latex,” WWD’s Miles Socha said of the collection in his review of the show.
